Stand up for yourself quotes

Welcome to my stand-up act. Ha-ha, I’m not a comedienne though. The closest I have got to a stand-up act is by watching ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’. It airs on Amazon Prime for those who don’t know. It’s a great show though!! Because the way she delivers her STAND-UP act with utmost confidence and conviction is what inspired me.

Wondering if Amazon Prime and Netflix have sponsored my content? Because earlier I spoke about ‘YOU’ now this…No matter how much I wished it was true, unfortunately, it’s not (as of now, maybe in the future, ha-ha) I’m just a huge TV series buff and I love watching it in my free time, not only for entertainment purpose but also for it’s great content (now you know the source of my inspiration to write ha-ha).

Well, without further ado I’ll get to the theme of my blog i.e. ‘STAND UP’. Often life puts us in a situation where we have to justify our actions, what we said, to the society. And in those times, we should STAND UP for ourselves. If you think you are right, then STAND UP and say. Justify how you are right. Instead of listening to what others expect you to do, say what you feel is right for you.

Don't allow unnecessary drama by keeping quiet when you should have said something.

You are the director, critic and the audience of your own life.

Don’t let others manipulate you into doing something you don’t want to do. I’m not saying to disrespect their feelings and emotions and just boss around. What I mean by ‘STANDING UP’ for yourself is that when you feel that something around you is off-beam, you don’t feel right, say it out loud. Instead of suppressing your emotions say what you’ll do in that situation. By suppressing your emotions you’re just mentally exerting yourself and signing yourself up for unnecessary drama in the near future which you can easily avoid in the present moment by saying it out loud and sticking to your words.

Don’t PREACH, just SAY.

Don’t just SAY, ACT.

Just say it

When we were in school, we were taught to voice our opinions against what’s right and what’s wrong. But as we grow up, we are told to keep quiet and also not to interfere when elders are having a conversation. Why is there a sudden change of opinions?

Why can’t we raise questions and tell our opinions about that subject?

Is it rude to justify yourself? Is it insolent to have your opinions on the said topic?

I feel that it’s not rude to have an opinion. After all, we all are individuals having different opinions about almost everything. Therefore, raising an opinion is not wrong. Well, the tone in which you raise your opinion can be right or wrong. But not raising an opinion. STANDING UP when you feel that something doesn’t match your thinking is not wrong. In fact, one should be highly opinionated because that’s what makes us unique from everyone around us.

Hence, STAND UP when you feel something goes against your ideologies. STAND UP when you feel something is wrong. STAND UP for yourself. STAND UP for your people. STAND UP for those who are too reserved to STAND UP for themselves so that they get inspired from you for the next time. Don’t stay quiet when you don’t feel it’s right. STAND UP.

Stand up for yourself

You can raise your opinions in my blog as well by commenting on what you feel is right or wrong. I’m open to having an open-mind conversation with my Gratisouls!

Great Post.
I think it’s so important to stand up for what you believe. But I think it’s equally important to remember that you’re opinion isn’t necessarily always correct. It’s an opinion for a reason, and other people are allowed to have them. I have a friend or two who are the kind of people who believe their opinion is the only one that matters and everyone else is wrong. These types of people give “opinions” as a whole a bad name. But I do believe you should stand up for something if you feel strongly about it.

I completely second your opinion. Raising an opinion isn’t wrong. But not listening to what others have to say and just bossing around thinking you are right is a completely wrong attitude. One should raise their opinion in a way that doesn’t hurt others feeling.
Thank you for stopping by and sharing your thoughts on the same!!

Thanks for sharing. Such a great motivation. Many a times, we can’t stand up for what is right because others feel it isn’t. Thanks for the charge!

I think you made a great point when you stated ‘Don’t just say, Act’. SO many people make big plans, talk big talk and have all the wild, crazy and exciting ideas in the world – but they fail to take it to the next phase, the action phase, and so they will be daydreaming for the rest of their lives waiting for it

I am teaching my granddaughter to Stand Up for herself. There is a way to say anything. She can speak her mind and be respectful.
