Career Confusion

I guess it’s a part of growing up when you ask the above question to yourself quite frequently. For example, when you are in school after 10th standard you have to choose a stream which will further shape your career and will decide your future. So, your entire future is on stake, therefore, you have to ask ‘WHAT NEXT’ a lot of times to yourself before choosing a stream. It’s a risky question because the answer to this question would be a life-changer for you.

Then after 12th standard, you have to decide which college to go into. WHAT NEXT? Oh god, the answer to that question would be even more tough to decide because your next 3-5 years would be truly devoted to your college years which will further limit your options for your future career. ‘Choose wisely people!!’

Before your college is about to finish you have to again decide whether to pursue higher studies or do a job or start your own business. WHAT NEXT? You have to pre-plan everything otherwise it’ll be too late. You’ll always be in a dilemma, you’ll always have numerous thoughts going in your head 24*7 but to narrow down your thoughts into one final decision is the end result. ‘Choose wisely again people!!’

Now, if you have opted for post-graduation, you’ll again have to go through the same phase of choosing colleges and preparing for it, WHAT NEXT? but you’ll feel a bit secured for the next 2-3 years while you are in college because you won’t have to decide anything for a certain period of time.

If you opted for a job or being an entrepreneur, you’ll again have to ask WHAT NEXT? How to go forward? Which department or field depicts you the best? Again, numerous thoughts…. and the process continues until the day we die and rest in peace (JUST KIDDING)!!

Some people get themselves entangled during these stages and stay confused about WHAT NEXT? While there are others who decide and stick to their decisions. These people have well-defined goals, high aim, and aspirations which they want to fulfill at the earliest. But what about those confused souls? How do they move forward? Well, these people think a lot before sticking to a decision about what to do next. These people go through a lot of mental pressure sometimes and sometimes they tell themselves to relax for a while and let their destiny take them where they are supposed to be. That doesn’t mean that they have lost hope. NO! Not everybody is the same! These people just need certain surety and belief in themselves that everything will work out in the end. And they are positive about it, that they will achieve their goals soon… well, most of the times! (everybody faces their share of ups and downs, its human)

How do I know about these people? Well, I am amongst them (not guilty). And I do believe that no matter how many times I have to face the question of WHAT NEXT? In my life, it will just help me give a much clearer perspective about where I want to be in my life in the next few years.

So, all I want to say is don’t lose hope, don’t fear to answer the question of WHAT NEXT? To yourself even if you don’t know the answer at that time. Have faith in yourself! YOU CAN DO IT! YOU CAN ACHIEVE EVERYTHING YOU ALWAYS DREAMT OF! WHENEVER YOU ARE INTO ANY KIND OF PROBLEM OR ARE HAVING NEGATIVE THOUGHTS, JUST REPEAT THIS LINE TO YOURSELF IN YOUR MIND…

I’m sure you’ll feel much better! Try it to believe it!

Until then live positively and happily!!

Totally right! The pressure that comes with the question is totally in our heads. What if it all works out is a great mindset to switch into. Great read!
