How to be Productive during Winter?

Game of Thrones tv show emphasized a lot on the dialogue that ‘Winter is coming’. Well, winter is officially here in New Delhi, India, and I just don’t want to get up from my comfortable blanket!!!

Being productive can be tough because it requires a lot of discipline and basically developing a habit to become disciplined so that we can eventually be productive at work. (Woah, that is a lot of discipline!)

But being productive during winters is a task on a whole another level. You probably want to sleep in your cozy and comfy blanket all day long, want to sip on hot cocoa and just don’t want to do much in life.

So, if it is summer in December in your city, then now is the time to up your ‘A Game’ and be twice as more productive as you usually are because you can actually lead the race of productivity at this time as we winter sloths are probably on snooze mode at the moment.

So, go get ready, roll up your sleeves and hustle harder! You can win the race while we are still judging our choice to be even a part of this productivity race!!

To all my fellow winter sloths out there who are literally struggling to go to work every day, don’t worry I’ll give you some tips with which you can stay productive throughout the day!!

4 Tips to Beat the Winter Laziness

1. Set your Alarm a bit Earlier

Suppose you have to wake up at 8 in the morning. Set 2 alarms, one at 7 AM and one at 7:50 AM. I’ll tell you the logic behind that. During winter mornings, every minute makes a big difference, right? I mean we can do anything to sleep just for those extra 5 minutes which feels like 5 seconds. So, when your alarm will ring at 7, your mind will give you a signal that you still have one blissful hour.

 And then when other alarm will ring at 7:50, your mind will prepare you to be ready for a cold day ahead. But you’ll again have another heavenly 10 minutes to be fully prepared for your day ahead!!

See, it’s all a mind game. You gave yourself one free hour and you are also ready to get up now. (Well, not absolutely ready but you’ll have to anyhow!) Don’t worry as soon as you’ll reach home, your blanket, hot cocoa, and warm food would be waiting for you!! So, work hard for them!! They are rooting for you!

2. Morning Stretches and Warm Water

After you are finally ready to leave your dearest blanket behind, brush your teeth and have a glass of water. Having one glass of water after we wake up is very beneficial for our body!!

Our body gets dehydrated while we are sleeping. So, you have to keep your body hydrated to recover that overnight dehydration.

Also, it works as an instant natural energy booster. Include that with a bit of body stretching and you might not need tea or coffee for that extra caffeine energy to survive the day. It will not take much of your time. Just 5 minutes max. You can give that much to your body, right?

3. Choose Comfort over Fashion

Leave fashion for the summers. Now is the time for layering. Because you don’t want your choice of clothes to be an obstruction in your path to become productive, do you?

Yes, you can have comfortable yet fashionable outfits in your wardrobe. But just layer it on so that the outside cold breeze doesn’t affect your inner air of hustle.

4. Heat it Up

If you are like me who gets that frost-bite way too soon, I’ll suggest you buy a mini heater. You can keep it under your work desk to keep you warm if your workplace doesn’t have a centralized heater.

It can get very tough to even take your hands out to type. ( Yes, I am struggling to write this blog, but I’m still writing so 10 points to Gryffindor!!) So, stay warm to stay productive!

Nice post! I especially enjoyed the comment about having water when we wake up. It is so hard to stay hydrated in the winter.
